5 houses, 2 townhouses, and now this is my first apartment.
2. Which was your favorite and why?
My 3rd house in PA was my favorite. It was massive, had everything I could possibly want form a house, including a 2-story deck, a half-court basketball court, a pair of horseshoe pits, and still a LOT of grass in the back yard. Then, behind the yard, was a tree line packed with mulberry trees (you haven't lived until you've eaten ripe mulberries directly from the tree, and beyond the tree line a passive corn field which we made mazes in and had corn fights, etc. It really was the perfect house. I moved out of it in Whitehall (the village of Cementon, really), PA, and down to Lakeland, FL, when I was 11.
3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
Moving is always stressful, but if you're moving up it can also be very exciting.
4. What's more important, location or price?
Location, as long as you don't ruin your standard of living by spending too much.
5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
See above. That WAS my dream house. I used to shoot cans on the picnic table at the back of our yard with a pellet gun from the top of the deck (with my father's supervision, of course). Damn, I really loved that house. Coal stove in the basement kept the whole place TOASTY during the winter. It had 6 bedrooms (we only used 3 as actual bedrooms, the two downstairs were a sewing room for my mother and a play room for me, plus 2 den-type rooms, and a dining room and a huge kitchen.
I didn't realize how much I loved that house until taking this. Thanks Friday Five!
